Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen (middle), R-Alexandria, received a “Legislator of Distinction” award from the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities during Monday night’s Alexandria City Council meeting. Council member Owen Miller (left) and Mayor Dan Ness, who are both active in the coalition, presented the honor. They said that Ingebrigtsen, who chairs the Senate Environmental and Natural Resources Finance Committee, is a strong supporter of Greater Minnesota parks and trails. Ingebrigtsen’s leadership, they said, helped parks and trails receive an exclusive share of funding from the Legacy Amendment, which was approved by voters in 2008.
