LAT to present 'The Door in the Cellar'

Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) is proud to present an original radio theater piece written by Minneapolis playwright Richard Liedholm. The Door in the Cellar is from his series The Realm of Terror. The boarded up cellar door must be opened before all present. But why? What is behind the door that is at all pertinent? Find out at LAT Friday, August 26 at 7 p.m.

The last will and testament of an eccentric wealthy lady is to be read in the cellar of her mansion. The heirs all meet in the cellar to hear the will, but there is one stipulation to reaping an inheritance. The boarded up cellar door must be opened before all present.

But why? What is behind the door that is at all pertinent?

Find out at LAT Friday, August 26 at 7 p.m. The show is directed by Mike Roers and stars Claudia Bursch, Bruce McKirdy, Kip Sundlee, Lori McKirdy, Virgil Linn and Lars Markeson. Daniel Roers will provide sound effects. The playwright will also be on hand.

LAT will present the final episode in the Simon's Night series on Sunday, August 28. The show can be heard on KXRA 1490 AM at 12:30 p.m.

This series was adapted, with permission, from a stage play of Jon Hassler's novel Simon's Night. The radio adaptation was written by Paul Schoenack.

Simon's Night was directed by Sharon Thalmann and stars Kevin Lee, Betty Butcher, Curt Ostenson, Sandy Susag, Mary Pohl, Miriam Thornquist, Gary Lund, Keri Mohror and Tim Ray. Sound effects were provided by Jamie Sandberg and John Thalmann. Bob Piotrowski provided music.
