Resorters Golf Tournament: Vincelli is Masters' Division champion
The Masters Championship trophy went to Pat Vincelli of Rosemount, who made his first appearance in the Resorters a memorable one. He defeated Bob Wernick of Rancho Mirage, California in the finals, 4-3.
To reach the finals, Vincelli had to wind his way through a minefield of talent, including Ken Riesberg of Mesa, Arizona, six-time Masters champion Ron Clayton of Sarasota, Florida, four-time Senior Division champion George Cliff of Mankato, and Wernick, the 1993 and 2003 Senior champ. Clayton also holds two Senior Division champions to give him a total of eight trophies, while Wernick also has a title in the Executive Men’s Division.
Wernick also saw tough competition in Steve Seavall of Spicewood, Texas, Tom Eidsvold of Alexandria, and Eric Hansen of Stowe, Vermont.
