“We are honored,” Robbie Carlsen, owner and head chef of Angelina’s, noted when he first heard that his restaurant had won favorite salad in Alexandria.
At Angelina’s, everything is made from scratch. Carlsen creates 90 percent of the food that leaves the kitchen, and he says that every plate is “cooked with care.”
“Angelina’s salad is very popular,” Carlsen noted, but added that they also serve pizzas cooked in a brick oven, and various Italian dishes.
Though Angelina’s recently added a bar, their family area is still unchanged and has separate seating.
“With the bar, business has doubled, but it is still restaurant first, bar second,” Carlsen added.
“We are thankful for everything our customers have done for us,” Carlsen said. “It’s good to know that our hard work is appreciated.”
