“After 23 years, I am still very exited that Subway was voted favorite sandwich in Douglas County,” said owner, George Odio.
Since people are starting to watch what they eat and choosing the healthier choice, Subway has become very popular with its fresh food and four easily accessible locations throughout Alexandria.
Many of Subway’s sandwiches have less than six grams of fat, such as the Black Forest Ham.
Healthier sides such as yogurts and salads are also available and apples and milk can be chosen in kid’s meals.
With the downturn of the economy, Odio says that the famous “5-dollar- footlong” has become very popular because of its value.
No matter what customers at Subway are buying, however, Odio says that he is, “incredibly thankful for this great community that we make food for. We always try to help them in any way we can.”
