McDonald’s, characterized by its golden archways and catchy jingle, was voted favorite fast food for the second consecutive year by Reader’s Choice.
Millions around the world enjoy McDonald’s food every day. The two locations in Alexandria, one on the north and one on the south side of town, make it easy for residents to get that familiar food they love. The south location opened in 1975, the north in 2000.
“Aside from your usual hamburger and French fries,” general manager Beth Brandsted said, “we also offer a lot of healthy choices.”
In Happy Meals, kids can choose apple dippers instead of French fries and milk or apple juice is available instead of soft drinks. There are also a variety of salads, grilled chicken and a fruit ‘n yogurt parfait.
“McDonalds is happy to serve the community,” Brandsted noted. “We enjoy seeing the same customers and recognizing their smiling faces.”
