Reader’s Choice Favorite Massage Therapist

Michelle Lehn had a unique change of careers seven years ago. She went from building convenience stores to being a massage therapist. It happened because of a friend’s happiness.

“A friend went to massage therapy school and when she started doing it, it changed her life,” Lehn explained. “She was a totally different person and I wanted to be there.”

Lehn went back to school and became a certified massage therapist (CMT). With her new career, she soon found the same contentment as her friend. Even after seven years, it hasn’t waned.

Lehn is currently a CMT at Kossan Chiropractic in Alexandria, where she has practiced for one and one half years.

She considers being named the area’s favorite massage therapist a huge honor, as it is her customers who make her job so fun.

“You change people’s lives,” she said of her job. “When they are in pain it’s such a huge burden for them. If you can help them, it makes you feel good.”

Lehn doesn’t see another career change in her future. “I could really do this until I’m 80.”
