Reader’s Choice Favorite Pet Care/Boarding

Alexandria Veterinary Clinic received a full meow of approval when readers voted it their favorite pet care and boarding spot.

Practice Manager Renee Deitz said she was “very pleased” to learn of the honor.

“That is our goal – to provide the very best services to the community,” she said. “We strive in the medicine department to be very knowledgeable with the latest techniques.”

The clinic was first established in 1917 and has changed through the years. It provides unique services, including specialized boarding with TVs, playtime, beds and private rooms for some furry clientele.

Dr. William Luckemeyer has been working with the clinic since 1972.

“We provide a professional atmosphere and a clean facility,” he said. “We are trying to do high quality medicine.”

The clinic also offers the services of specialists who visit regularly, including an orthopedic surgeon, dermatologist and ophthalmologist.

Deitz said, “The caretakers are genuine – loving animals – so they get excellent care.”
