Reader’s Choice Favorite Health Care Professional

Randy Peterson, a family doctor at Broadway Medical Center (BMC) in Alexandria, was voted as the area’s favorite health care professional.

Peterson is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead and of the University of Minnesota Medical School in the Twin Cities. He has been practicing since 1989 and has been at BMC for 15 years.

Peterson admits he was surprised to hear of the accolades given to him by the community because of the high quality medical services and professionals in the area.

“I think we are fortunate to have what we do have in this town,” he said. “We have a very upto- date and hard-working medical community. There are a lot of people in town who are good providers, there is no doubt about that. It’s an honor, but there are others who are deserving of this as well.”

Helping people is not only Peterson’s top priority, it’s the best part of his job.

“I enjoy the one-on-one contact and hopefully helping them through tough times,” he said. “I do enjoy working with people.”

Peterson’s patients have definitely noticed that he continually strives to be a competent, open minded and caring physician. That’s why he is their favorite.
