District 5 playoffs: Alex VFW is second seed for the tournament

Alexandria received the No. 2 seed in the District 5 VFW baseball tournament that began yesterday, Tuesday.

Alexandria was host to No. 7 seed Madison in a game played in Carlos at 6 p.m.

A win puts Alexandria into Friday night’s double-elimination winner’s bracket in Montevideo against the winner of the Starbuck/New London-Spicer game, with that game at 7:30 p.m.

If they lose, they will play in Montevideo on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against the loser of the Starbuck/New London-Spicer game.

Alexandria finished its regular season with a 21-9-1 record.
