New senior companion service opens in Alexandria

Friendly Faces, LLC is now open for business at 1300 Skyline Drive in Alexandria.

Friendly Faces, LLC is now open for business at 1300 Skyline Drive in Alexandria.

Owners Shari Dybdal and Lynn Swanson said they’re excited to bring this senior companion service to Alexandria.

In providing loving assistance to their own parents, Swanson and Dybdal understand how busy daily life can be and how it isn’t always possible for family or friends to always

be there.

“Our mission is to provide a compassionate and friendly helping hand with a friendly face when you or a family member need some assistance,” said Dybdal. “We fill in the gap when family isn’t available; whether they are on vacation, busy with work, or live out of the area.”

Dybdal and Swanson have lived in Minnesota all of their lives. Both have enjoyed working with the school district in the special education area and in the caring service industry.

Dybdal has lived in the Alexandria area for about eight years. With her parents now living in Alexandria, she sees a need for this service. “I want other families to have the same peace of mind as I have with my parents.”

Swanson has lived near Garfield for 16 years. She was the only caregiver in the area when her father needed assistance.

“That experience made me realize how comforting it would have been to have had a reliable companion available,” Swanson said. “I want to help others find their peace of mind when caring for an aging loved one.”
