TO: POTENTIAL BIDDERS:
Interested general contractors are invited to submit sealed bids to the Owner for demolition of the existing building and foundations located at 817 Fillmore St., Alexandria, MN. Bids will be received by the Owner at 805 Fillmore St. before 10AM local time on the 4th day of August, 2011 when the bids will be opened publicly. Address sealed bids to: Alexandria HRA, Attention Jeff Hess, 805 Fillmore Street, Alexandria, MN 56308. Note the name of the project on the outside of the bid envelope.
Bids will be received as General Contract bids. Qualified bids will not be accepted.
Bid Documents for a Stipulated Sum contract may be obtained from the office of the Architect upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit, by cash or certified check, in the amount of $20 for one set. Documents may also be viewed at the office of the Architect.
Qualified Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of Minnesota and shall have all licenses and shall obtain all permits required by the: location of project. Bidders will be required to provide A Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum no less than 5 percent of the Bid Amount. Cash or A certified check in the amount of no less than 5 percent of the bid amount is also acceptable.
Bids must be held for a period of 45 days after submission. Work is scheduled to begin on 8 August, 2011. Substantial Completion date is 9 September, 2011. The agreement for the work will be written on AIA Document A101 Standard Form of Agreement between Owner and Contractor where the basis of payment is a stipulated sum.
The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers.
