The Miltona Tigers are on their way to a Resorters East title after a dominating performance against the second-place team in the division last Friday.
Miltona traveled to Carlos and waited through a short rain delay before taking down the Cougars 12-1. The Tigers wasted no time getting started, scoring four runs on five hits in the first inning.
That all but wrapped up the win with Chris Koep on the mound. Koep continued his impressive summer with another eight strong innings. He allowed just two hits and one unearned run, while striking out nine. Cody Curry threw a scoreless ninth to wrap up the game.
The Tigers helped Koep coast to the win by adding on runs throughout the night. Ryan Emter and Ross Thompson each had two hits to lead that attack. Caleb Curry, Sam Steidl, Tom Steidl, Jake Leuschke, Jake Munsch and Mark Whiting added a hit apiece.
The win gave the Tigers a 10-1 record with just two games left in the regular season. They will host Osakis in a make-up game at Bernie Steidl Field tomorrow, Saturday. They will then welcome in Urbank on Sunday to wrap up the schedule. Both games are set to start at 2 p.m.
