Boys' tennis: LeVahn, Harding, Storm lead Cardinal award winners

The Alexandria tennis team wrapped up its season by handing out its team awards on June 13.

Ben LeVahn put together a solid senior season and was rewarded for that by being named the team’s hardest worker and most valuable player. LeVahn advanced all the way to the individual section tournament before coming up just short of a state tournament appearance.

He was Alexandria’s lone representative on the All-Central Lakes Conference team. Austin Storm and Trevor Grandgenett were honorable mention selections. Both Grandgenett and Storm were named as captains for next year’s team, along with Mack Wadi.

Storm earned the team’s Most Intense Player Award, while Will Harding was named the most improved player.

The Cardinal tennis team experienced some growing pains with a young roster but hopes that experience will help them in the future.

“Our guys worked through some tough adversity this season,” head coach Dave Ronning said. “And I truly believe our character was refined through it all. We all believed that hard work would bring good results, and it showed as we continued to improve throughout the season.”
