With the exception of the July 11 and August 15 picnic evenings, Celebrate Recovery meets every Monday in July and August with a simple summer schedule including a brief teaching on biblical recovery principles and one or more men’s open share groups and one or more women’s open share groups at 6:30 p.m. at Alexandria Covenant Church, 4005 Dakota Street, Alexandria (main floor, north doors).
Celebrate Recovery is a joint ministry of Alexandria Covenant and Catalyst Covenant Churches for the community and region. It provides fellowship and celebrates God’s grace and healing power for those dealing with a variety of life issues, including dependencies and addictions, life struggles and co-dependencies.
Using eight recovery principles found in Jesus’ Beatitudes and Christ-centered 12 steps, as people work and apply these principles, they begin to grow spiritually and find freedom from addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors.
Many participants find peace, serenity and joy, as well as a stronger personal relationship with God and others, according to Celebrate Recovery leaders.
