SPECIAL MEETING

BOARD OF EDUCATION

INDEPENDENT SCHOOL

DISTRICT NO. 206

ALEXANDRIA, MINNESOTA

MAY 20, 2011

The special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 206, Alexandria, Minnesota, was called to order by Board Chairperson Dean Anderson at 8:00 a.m. in the District Office Oak Conference Room, Alexandria, Minnesota.

Board Members Present: Alan Zeithamer, Jim Hafdal, Jean Robley, Sandy Susag, Dave Anderson, Pam Carlson and Dean Anderson and ex-officio Superintendent Terry Quist.

Others Present: Julie Critz, Judy Backhaus, Trevor Peterson, Jeff Jorgensen, Susan Scarborough, John Pfluger, Meg Parson, John Huenink, Paul Ringdahl, Bruce and Kathleen Pohlig, Barb Nichol, and Don Lifto.

REPORTS AND UPDATES:

Board members received reports on conceptual design work, related budget information, capital campaign, citizen committee and survey results as it relates to a future high school project.

FISCAL AND STAFF PLANNING:

Administrators provided the board with an update on budget revisions for the current school year and projections for the 2011-12 school year. A report was given on the 2011-12 staffing plans.

PROGRAM AND POLICY PLANNING:

Board members received updates on program planning and proposed strategic goals for the 2011-12 school year. A discussion followed on proposed board policy language as it relates to energy management.

ADJOURNMENT:

Motion by Dave Anderson, seconded by Hafdal, that being there is no further business to come before the Board at this time, the special meeting is adjourned at 12:35 p.m.
