Resorters baseball: Senators blank Norsemen 14-0
Alexandria took advantage of 11 walks and 10 hits
Using 11 hits and 10 walks, the Alexandria Senators sent Kensington back home with a 14-0 seven-inning loss during Resorters League West baseball action.
A three-run first inning was all starter Derek Miller needed to pick up his first win of the season, scattering two hits and striking out five.
Collin Modahl got things started for the Senators, leading off with a walk in the opening frame. He moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Kurt Kalina before Mike Lloyd and Doug Breitkreutz both walked to load the bases.
Another walk, this time to Nick Petro, plated the first run of the game.
After a strikeout, Alexandria’s Ron Welle drew a walk to score another run, and Tim Erickson pushed the third run of the inning across the plate on a solid single to right.
Breitkreutz finished the game with three hits and three runs batted in, while Modahl and Erickson added a pair of hits each.
