Thoughts on global warming

Recently, Dr. John Abraham, professor at St. Thomas University, spoke on a local radio station, to a student group, a business group, and also a group at a local church, where I heard him. The article in the Echo Press also stated some of his views.

Recently, Dr. John Abraham, professor at St. Thomas University, spoke on a local radio station, to a student group, a business group, and also a group at a local church, where I heard him. The article in the Echo Press also stated some of his views.

Dr. Abraham believes that inaccurate information repeated often seems to be true. He stated that some of the information about global warming is misleading. I agree with these statements. One example is the repeated statements that “global warming is caused by man-made carbon dioxide.” I question this repeated assertion. The basis of my questioning is the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) own reports from years ago.

In 2004, the EPA reported that “carbon dioxide is not the leading source of greenhouse gas.” The EPA stated that methane gas is “20 times more effective in trapping heat in the atmosphere than is carbon dioxide.” The EPA breakdown of kilotons of methane emissions in the U.S. for 2004: urban landfills – 6,709; natural gas systems – 5,658; animal flatulence – 5,363; coal mining – 2,682; animal manure management – 1,875; urban wastewater treatment – 1,758; petroleum systems – 1,222; and all others – 1,245.

Al Gore and many other liberals in science and in the government treat manmade carbon dioxide as a fact in causing global warming, in spite of the report published by the EPA in earlier years. Now they are trying to change the name to climate change, but their goal is the same, to tax us on the false premise that we are causing the problem.

Since God created a perfect world for us to live in, as Dr. Abraham states, why can’t we trust God to continue to sustain His own sovereign creation as He has done since He created it? See Revelations 4:11.
