Section 6A baseball: Chargers fall in finals
New York Mills, Frazee ended the season for Brandon-Evansville
Losses to New York Mills and Frazee ended the season for the Brandon-Evansville Chargers in the Section 6A baseball finals.
The Chargers, who made it to the final four of the section playoffs, lost to the Eagles 14-2 in their opener, then fell 11-5 to the Hornets in the loser’s bracket. New York Mills played Frazee last night, Thursday for the title and a state berth.
Brandon-Evansville grabbed the lead early with a run in the first inning, then added single runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth. The Hornets showed their offensive power as they scored three runs in the second and continued to build, highlighted by a five-run fifth.
Billie Juul led the Chargers as he knocked out a pair of hits and scored twice.
Aaron Lund took the loss on the mound.
Brandon-Evansville ended its season with a 14-10 overall record.
