The Alexandria Brush and Palette Club will host a workshop, “Exploring Atmospheric Conditions,” featuring artist Michele Melina Wednesday, June 22 through Friday, June 24 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

First impressions, a story, the technique and the knowledge through experience are the keys to building a painting from birth to completion. In the workshop, Melina will offer insight to those elements and guide students through principles that are basic to all mediums.

Students will learn the importance of layering color to achieve atmosphere. “Painting air” and its relationship to all things has been Melina’s goal for many years. They will also learn depth and impact by exploring color harmony and temperature to create a mood in a painting.

For information, call Jana at (218) 943-1887. Information about Melina can be found at www.michelemelina.com.
