Accessible Space, Inc. (ASI) will host an open house and dedication ceremony for the Nordic Meadow Apartments in Alexandria Friday.

The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Nordic Meadow Apartments located at 410 34th Avenue East in Alexandria. The day will begin with speakers and presentations from local officials, representatives, funders and supporters, and will close refreshments and a tour of the building.

Nordic Meadow Apartments, sponsored, developed and managed by ASI, is a 14-unit, wheelchair accessible apartment community for very-low income adults with qualifying disabilities and/or developmental disabilities. Development and construction of the Nordic Meadow Apartments was made possible with primary funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 811 Program. Substantial supplemental funding was provided by the Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Affordable Housing Program/U.S. Bank, and the Otto Bremer Foundation.

Accessible Space, Inc. is proud to name the apartment community after Bob Hogan, the long time director of the Nevada Community Enrichment Program (NCEP) who retired in 2009.
