Jefferson students to graduate today

It’s time for nearly 300 Jefferson High School (JHS) students to take the next big step in their lives – graduation.
Commencement exercises are set to take place this Sunday, June 12 at 2 p.m. at Citizens Field in Alexandria. If the weather is bad, ceremonies will be moved to the JHS gymnasium.
The program is as follows:
Fanfare and processional – JHS Band under the direction of Todd Blaser.

Wanting Memories – performed by the JHS Concert Choir under the direction of Steve Deitz.
We’re Going to be Friends – performed by Cody Saurdiff, Class of 2011.

Commencement address – Ty Granning.
Certification of Class of 2011 – Chad Duwenhoegger, principal.
Presentation of Class of 2011 – Dr. Terry Quist, superintendent.
Presentation of diplomas – Quist; Dean Anderson, District 206 School Board chair; Mike Donahue, teacher; and Meghan Orgeman Crumb, counselor.
Closing – Sara Kosters.

The motto for the JHS Class of 2011 is, “There are many roads we have crossed, many hills we have climbed and so many dreams we have yet to realize.”
