SECTION 8AA TRACK AND FIELD: Cards qualify more athletes for state

Several more athletes have turned in state qualifying performances for the Cardinal boys' and girls' track team, with the relays yet to be decided. Both first and second place finishes qualify.

Finishing first for Alexandria were Rosey Erickson in the 100-meter dash and the triple jump, Ben Vickstrom in the 100-meter dash, Jamie Piepenburg in the 1,600-meter run and Dan Gorghuber in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.

Karly Betterman finished second in the 300-meter low hurdles to earn her spot.

Joie Warnes took third in the Triple Jump missed qualifying for state by a quarter of an inch, and was fourth in the 100 meter hurdles, with Gorghuber finishing third in the 110 meter hurdles.

Erickson and Piepenburg had qualified for state on Wednesday with wins in the long jump and 3,200-meter run respectively, while Brittany Ludwig was second in the discus to advance.
