Two people dead after boating accident on Lake Victoria

Two people died in a boating accident near the Lake Victoria boat landing in Douglas County Saturday.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about the incident and upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered six victims who were all passengers in a single watercraft.

Two fatalities have been confirmed at this time. Their names are being withheld pending notification of family members.

More information is expected to be released at a news conference Sunday afternoon.

Agencies that responded included Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Alexandria Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Alexandria Fire Department, North Ambulance, Glacial Ridge Ambulance and Parkers Prairie Ambulance.
