Speaker to address climate change

Much has been said about climate change and global warming, and some of it is misleading," according to Dr. John P. Abraham, professor at St. Thomas University in St. Paul.

"Much has been said about climate change and global warming, and some of it is misleading," according to Dr. John P. Abraham, professor at St. Thomas University in St. Paul.

He’ll spend the day in Alexandria on Wednesday, May 18. Abraham is a member of a group of scientists who believe that inaccurate information, if repeated often, seems to be true.

The public event is being hosted at the United Methodist Church, 2210 6th Avenue East in Alexandria. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. followed by Abraham's talk at 6:30 p.m.

The public is invited to both. Seating is available for those attending the talk only. Enter the main door off the parking lot.

Abraham will begin his day as a guest on "Open Line" on KXRA-Radio AM 1490 at 9 a.m. Later, he will meet with business leaders and science students. KIKV and KOOL Focus will air an interview on Sunday.

The day's events are sponsored by the non-profit, non-partisan Alexandria Citizen's Climate Lobby (CCL), which hopes to improve adult science education.
