Did you feel it? Earthquake rattles Alexandria Friday morning
A 2.5 magnitude earthquake reported at 2:20 a.m.
An earthquake rattled the Alexandria area early Friday morning.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), a 2.5 magnitude rumbled at 2:20 a.m. Friday.
The Echo Press has received a few reports from residents who said they felt it. They described the quake as "loud" and "lasted a couple seconds." An Echo Press staff member, who lives in Alexandria, reported hearing and feeling her bedroom wall rattle briefly.
The USGS reports the earthquake hit 39 miles southeast of Fergus Falls and 55 miles northwest of Willmar.
