“Red Carpet Premiere” was the theme of this year’s Jefferson High School Prom and students dressed for the part.

The young men looked dashing in their tuxes and the beautiful young women were all smiles as they showed their prom styles.

About 400 students attended the grand march at JHS Saturday night.

Couple after couple appeared under a trellis and waited for their names to be announced before taking a stroll along the red carpet while a gym packed with proud parents, family members and friends applauded and snapped photos.

Later that night, prom couples danced the night away at the Broadway Ballroom.

Prom organizers were pleased with the great turnout and were happy to report there were no prom-related accidents that night.

A line in the grand march program summed up the special occasion: “A moment lasts all of a second but the memory lives on forever.”
