The Douglas County Library will conclude its three-part art history program on Thursday, April 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. when artist and art educator Lorene McIntosh explores the style and influence of the Impressionists.

The free program is part of the Bluestocking Salon series offered for adults and teens, funded by Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage fund and sponsored by Viking Library System, Douglas County Library and the Kaddatz Galleries.

The “Bluestocking Salon: Art History for Real People” welcomes people of all levels of knowledge of art and history. In addition to visual images of art from the time period, and audience discussion, the program will feature the work of regional artist Stephen Henning, whose work is influenced by the Impressionist style.

The program honors the Blue Stocking Society of 18th century England, which emphasized education and mutual cooperation.

Registration for the program is requested by calling the library at (320) 762-3014.
