Seminar promotes respect for LGBT community in Alexandria
A seminar entitled “Making Alexandria Welcoming to All People: Opening Our Doors to the LGBT Community” will be offered in Alexandria on Wednesday, April 27.
A seminar entitled “Making Alexandria Welcoming to All People: Opening Our Doors to the LGBT Community” will be offered in Alexandria on Wednesday, April 27.
LGBT is the acronym for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
The session is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 221 7th Avenue NW in Alexandria.
Denny Smith, founder and executive director of Winning Marriage Equality is the seminar facilitator. Winning Marriage Equality is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote equality, dignity and respect for LGBT people, their families and their relationships.
Smith is the father of a gay son and author of God Did TOO Make Adam & Steve.
The presentation is designed to foster calm and meaningful discussion of a controversial and often divisive issue. People on all sides of the debate are invited to attend.
