Just after 6 p.m. Friday, firefighters were called to a downtown business fire in Carlos.
There were reports of smoke coming from the roof of Lyn’s Lasting Memories located on Main Street, between Ruby Hill Gallery and Herby’s Bar Grill and Café.
A crowd gathered Friday evening as smoke poured from the front door of the decorating boutique.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, initial information indicates that the fire was most likely caused by an electrical issue. The building sustained substantial smoke damage.
Lyn’s Lasting Memories is owned by Linda and Bob Hop of Carlos. On Monday, Lyn told the Echo Press that it’s too soon to tell what their plans are for the future.
