AFSC skaters earn honors in Battle

Talk about it

It was a successful Battle of the Blades competition for the Alexandria Figure Skating Club (AFSC) as several skaters earned high honors.

In compulsories, Alice Lindgren, Mae Copley and Gretchen Majerus all earned first place honors, while in freeskate, Ava Lindgren, Madisen Hall, Ingrid Lindgren, Alice Lindgren and Majerus earned firsts.

While competing in the interpretive division, Mariah Fults, Hall, I. Lindgren, Misha Harstad and Majerus were tops, while in the Central Minnesota Basic Skills Competition (CMBSC) series compulsories, Fults, Madeline Hartwell, Harstad and Majerus were first.

In the CMBSC freeskate, Fults, Hartwell, Analea Sheets and Majerus finished first.

A total of 79 competitors from 13 clubs throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota competed in the event.

Along with the main competition, Alexandria also hosted the final of three CMBSC events between Willmar, St. Cloud and Alexandria, with eight AFSC skaters competing.
