'The Bum' to air on Sunday

Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria will present on-stage and on-the-air performances this weekend.

ON STAGE

Get ready for the return of two goofy gals of gab. The Further Adventures of Phoebe and Maude will be performed on the LAT stage on Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m. In this episode, Phoebe is not feeling well and Maude must nurse her back to health so they can hit the latest garage sales.

The show is directed by Claudia Bursch and stars Pauline Segaar, Betsy Ostenson, Kent Garlinghouse, Sharon Thalmann, Sandy Susag and Rachel Capistrant. Bob Piotrowski is on the keyboard and Pete Woit will provide the sound effects.

The Bum will be on the air on Sunday, March 27 at 12:30 p.m. on KXRA 1490 AM radio.

What do you get when you cross an absent-minded professor of philosophy, the dean of women, a bum, a judge, a butcher and a couple of college co-eds? Mix-ups and comedy.

The Bum is an episode from the old-time radio series, The Fabulous Dr. Tweedy. It is directed by Ann Hermes and stars Pete Woit, Claudia Bursch, Curt Ostenson, Lars Markeson, Alex Blaser, Al Hayes and Hyson Krusmark. Composing and performing music is Bob Piotrowski with Rick Dusterhoft providing sound effects.
