Storm cancels schools throughout Douglas County
Schools throughout the area are closed today, Wednesday, because of a winter storm and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is advising no travel in the area.By: Staff Report, Alexandria Echo Press
Schools throughout the area are closed today, Wednesday, because of a winter storm and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is advising no travel in the area.
Schools that are closed include Alexandria, Brandon-Evansville, Osakis, Parkers Prairie, Lakes Area Charter School, Minnewaska and West Central Area. The Alexandria Technical and Community College is scheduled to open at 10 a.m.
The sheriff's office has declared a snow emergency and no travel is advised until plows have cleared the roads.
Douglas County remains under a winter weather warning until 7 p.m. tonight.
