Get prepared to laugh Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m. as the talented cast and crew of The Bum take the stage at Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria.
The Bum is an episode from the old time radio series The Fabulous Dr. Tweedy. The absent minded professor, Dr. Tweedy, gets into several jams as he plows through life not quite knowing the full story.
Ann Hermes is director. Starring in this show are Pete Woit as Thaddeus Q. Tweedy, Claudia Bursch as the Dean of Women Miss Tilsey, Curt Ostenson as Welby the bum, Allen Hayes as the Judge, Alex Blaser as coed Jane Taylor, Lars Markeson as the butcher Oscar Schlupp, and Hyson Krusmark as the narrator and the coed Barbara.
Bob Piotrowski composed the theme song for the show and will perform it Friday night. Rick Dusterhoft will create the sound effects. Sponsoring The Bum is Windmill Ponds.

Romance is in the air or on the air Sunday, March 13 at 12:30 p.m. on KXRA 1490 AM. LAT will present For Business Reasons, a light-hearted look at how love can bloom and fade and blossom again, all around dog-sitting.
Christy Meier directed the show, which stars Leah Drexler, Sandy Susag, Philip Goellner, Kara Gerdes, Lars Markeson, Sharon Thalmann, and Bruce Wegner. Karen Gladen is on the keyboard with John Thalmann providing sound effects. The show is sponsored by Raapers Eatery and Ale.
