On Saturday and Sunday, March 5-6, the Alexandria Police Department received numerous reports of vehicles being broken into and property stolen from the vehicles.
The incidents happened in several different business parking lots. Police officers obtained surveillance video of the suspects and their vehicle.
The vehicle was located and the driver and two passengers were subsequently arrested.
Some of the property and personal effects of the victims have been recovered.
The suspects are Cody James Lien, 23, of Miltona, Nicholas Paul Zirbes, 22, of Maple Lake and Randy Dale Lindberg, 27, of Alexandria.
They are being charged with theft/possession of stolen property, criminal damage to property, tampering with a motor vehicle as well as other alcohol and drug-related charges, according to the police department.
The suspects are under investigation relating to other multiple vehicle break-ins which have occurred in the city of Alexandria beginning in mid-January.
Vehicle break-ins have occurred in the parking lots of the Cinema 9 Theatre, Raaper's Sports Bar, and Knute Nelson Memorial Home.
In each of the incidents, criminal damage was done to victim's vehicles in order to gain entry and property was stolen, including purses, cash, credit cards, identification cards, checkbooks, electronic items and other miscellaneous items.
This case is still under investigation. Also assisting with the investigation was the Minnesota State Patrol.
