FINAL HEARING
SAUK RIVER
WATERSHED DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Managers of the Sauk River Watershed District pursuant to Minnesota Statute 103D.605 will hold a hearing March 15, 2011 at 7:45 P.M. at the Sauk River Watershed District office located at 524 Fourth Street South in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. The purpose of the hearing is to consider and take comments on the Technical Assistance Clean Water Fund Project for the Mississippi River Basin Initiative. Funding for this project is from the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources.
This project will involve providing technical assistance to local landowners to implement conservation practices using the Federal Mississippi River Basin Initiative funds available through local Soil and Water Conservation Districts within the Sauk River watershed. Total estimated cost is $210,526 with $168,421 being in grant dollars and $42,105 in matching dollars and in-kind contributions from state and local agencies and organizations. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the above mentioned project and the conservation practices eligible for technical assistance. Funds under this project may only be used to improve existing animal waste issues, stormwater and erosion concerns. Under no condition may these funds be used for litigation requirements, new construction, expansions or for commercial use.
