Speech team takes 2nd on Feb. 19

The Jefferson High School speech team won the 2nd place trophy for overall achievement in the large school category out of 17 schools on Saturday, February 19 in Paynesville.

Several individual awards were also won, including the following:

Katie Lovrein earned the 1st place medal and Colin Robertson earned the 5th place medal in Discussion.

Alex Blaser earned 4th place in Drama. Mariah Lichty and Gabrielle Cahlin earned an honorable mention in Dramatic Duo. Jesse Graybear earned 1st place and Todd Johnson took 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking.

Jenna Seward earned 4th place in Informative. Katelyn Steffel took 1st and Emily Prestby was 4th in Poetry.

The team competed in Willmar March 1 and will compete in Sauk Centre on March 5.
