Course teaches money management

House of Prayer and New Testament churches in Alexandria are partnering to offer a six-week Total Money Makeover course. The video sessions will be taught by Dave Ramsey.

The course will be held Wednesdays, March 16 through April 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at House of Prayer Church, 3020 Rosewood Lane SE in Alexandria.

Cost is $25, which includes the Total Money Makeover book and all printed materials. If you have the book, cost for the course is $10 to cover the cost of printed materials. Couples using the same book and materials can attend for $25. Extra sets of materials will be available for an additional $10.

In Total Money Makeover, Ramsey condensed 17 years of financial teaching and counseling into seven easy-to-follow steps to get out of debt. There are more than 50 real-life stories from people who have followed the principles and are now winning with their money. The plan is designed for everyone, regardless of income or age.

The goals of the class are for participants to design a plan for paying off all debt; recognize the 10 most dangerous money myths; and secure a nest egg for emergencies and retirement.
