The Central Lakes Music club will host the National Federation Festival Friday to Sunday, March 4 to 6. The event will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

The festival is not a competition, but an opportunity for students to perform and receive evaluation. The students perform two selections in a small group setting. A festival judge will critique each performance, write constructive comments and give the performance a numerical rating.

Students who receive a superior rating are invited to play in a recital held on Sunday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m.

Two hundred of the 220 festival entries are piano solos. Other entries include piano duet, viola, violin, cello, flute and vocal solos.

Teachers in the area who are eligible to enter students as members of the National Federation of Music Clubs are Ruth Aaseng, Kelly Albrecht, Eliza Anderson, Carol Andstrom, Barbara Ask, Marcia Benson, Diane Braud, Dawn Carlson, Kjersten Cook, Karen Erickson, Mercedes Hagen, Annette Helder, Roxanne Klemetson, Marlene Larson, Leila Preston, Rebecca Worley and Kristi Wussow.

All events are open to the public.
