The Douglas Soil and Water conservation District (SWCD) is teaming up with the Douglas County Lakes Association (DCLA) to offer two scholarships to high school seniors.

The SWCD and DCLA core values include conservation, stewardship and education. This year students are asked to respond to this question: “Why is soil and water conservation important to my future?”

The environmental essay contest is an opportunity for any high school senior living in or attending school in Douglas County to earn a $500 or $300 scholarship to be used toward the cost of college books or tuition.

Contest guidelines are available online at www.DouglasSWCD.com. The deadline is March 14.
