Card Nordic skiing: Sieling, Gromatka finish season at state

Freshman Julia Sieling and sophomore Melissa Gromatka finished 105th and 116th respectively as they took part in the State Nordic Ski meet at Giants Ridge in Biwabik Thursday.

Sieling finished the freestyle portion of the race in 17:56 and the classical in 22:24.6, while Gromatka’s freestyle time was 19:42 and her classical time was 23:48.2.

“Both Melissa and Julia represented Alexandria with class and worked very hard in unfavorable conditions,” said Cardinal head coach Luke Erickson.

Conditions were tough for the competition as very warm and humid weather made skiing a challenge.
