Anna Nelson, 76

Anna Marie Sophie Nelson, 76, entered the Knute Nelson memorial home on January 25, 2011 and died there on February 1, 2011.

Anna was born January 31, 1935 in Belgrade, the daughter of Ernest and Marie (Pommeraning) Bahe. She grew up and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1952. On December 6, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran in Belgrade, Anna was united in marriage to Robert Nelson. The couple lived in the Minneapolis area, where Anna was employed for Honeywell. The couple retired and moved to Tucson, Arizona in October of 1990, where they continued to live until September 2010, when they moved to Alexandria. Anna enjoyed playing golf in her spare time.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Nelson of Alexandria; brothers, Richard (Mary Ann) Bahe of Alexandria, Henry Bahe of Alexandria, and William (Dorothy) Bahe of Alexandria; brother-in-law, Marty Genz of Barrett; and sister-in-law, Corrine Bahe of Belgrade.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Andrew and Ernest Bahe; sisters, Verlaine Genz and Paulette Bahe; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Elsie Bahe.

A memorial service was held Friday, February 4 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Mark Astrup officiating. Music was provided by Sandy Buckner and Nancy Berns.

Inurnment will be at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria at a future date.
