Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria will present a romance entitled For Business Reasons, an original old-time radio theater drama produced in 1949. While the script reflects the times in the late 1940s, the theme is universal. A romance blooms between a babysitting service employee and a gentleman who needs someone to tend to his dog. The show is sponsored by Sheryl Bakewell of Re/Max Lakes Area Realty.
Starring are Leah Drexler as Fay Brooks; Sandy Susag as Miss Fish; Phil Goellner as Spike Harrison; Kara Gerdes as Bettty and Miss Kramer; Sharon Thalmann as Mrs. Stewart and Miss Fairbanks; Lars Markeson and Bruce Wegner. Karen Gladen is on keyboard and John Thalmann provides the sound effects.
Tonight, Friday, February 11, the production of the Sherlock Holmes' Adventure of the Tolling Bell will have Mr. Holmes again prevailing, but how? Are there any clues too obtuse for his logical mind? Will Watson weigh in on this adventure? Who will try to foil the great Sherlock Holmes?
The show will take place at 7 p.m. at LAT and is sponsored by State Bank and Trust.
It will star Quincy Roers as Sherlock Holmes; Lars Markeson as Dr. Watson; Bruce Wegner as Bell; Kara Gerdes as Mary; Phil Goellner as Gillian; and Miriam Thornquist as Mrs. Michol. Dedra Zwieg is on the keyboard and John Thalmann provides the sound effects.
