Girls' basketball: Panthers remain undefeated; Pierz uses depth to stop Silverstreaks
The Parkers Prairie girls had a bit of a scare again on Tuesday night but remained undefeated with another Little Eight Conference win.
The Panthers led by five at the break against Underwood before pulling away in the second half. Madison Dorn led the charge as she had 15 of her game-high 23 points after halftime to lead her team to a 61-44 win.
Carly Masloski kept Underwood in the game through the first 18 minutes. She scored 12 of the Rockets’ 23 points by the break. Parkers Prairie held her to just two in the second. Ellen Ferry picked up the pace, scoring 16 on her way to a team-high 19 points. It was not enough as the Panthers moved to 16-0 overall and 8-0 in the LEC.

The Pierz girls’ basketball team had too much depth for Osakis as the Pioneers got a 58-41 win on the Silverstreaks’ home court on Tuesday night.
Osakis stuck with Pierz for one half before the Pioneers scored 31 to pull away in the second half. They put three players in double figures. Lindsay Monson led the way with 16, while Amber Preimesberger and Jayme Sczublewski had 11 and 10, respectively.
Osakis countered with just one player in double figures. Annalise Savageau had 14 points and six rebounds. Brooke Sorenson added eight points and six boards, while Calista Sadlemyer poured in seven.
The Silverstreaks fell to 6-10 with the loss. They welcomed Albany to town last night, Thursday, before Battle Lake comes to town for a 2:30 tip tomorrow.
