Leaf Valley Speed Rally is Saturday on Miltona

The 2011 Leaf Valley Speed Rally will take place Saturday, February 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on north Lake Miltona at the Sandy Beach public access. The event is a radar run held on a 1,000-foot shaved track 60 feet wide.

The event is open to the public with more than 40 classes, ranging from kitty kat to open fuel, as well as ATVs and motorcycles. The top three places in each class receive a trophy.

There is also a top speed of the day contest, which pays cash prizes of $500, $250 and $150 to the top three places.

The entry fee is $5 per driver for insurance and $20 for four runs, with each additional run costing $5.

Spectators are welcome to attend; there is no charge. Food and beverages will be available for sale.

All proceeds go to the Leaf Valley Game and Conservation Club.
