Girls' hockey: Storm hold off Patriots for 4-3 victory

After jumping to a quick 3-0 lead in the first period, the Morris/Benson Area (Minnewaska) Storm allowed Pequot Lakes to tie the game in the third before Sara Rajewsky scored the game-winner with four minutes remaining.

Brooke Falk kept the Patriots from tying the game once again as she made a save on a breakaway with less than five seconds remaining in the game.

Dani Schultz, Minnesota’s leading goal scorer once again this year, notched a hat-trick in the first period. In fact, she scored a pair of goals within 33 seconds of the start of the game.

Schultz has 38 goals so far this season, six ahead of Taylor Kuehl of Mound-Westonka.

Falk made 24 saves in goal while the Storm outshot Pequot Lakes 40-27 in the game.

It was the eighth straight win for MBA.
