Card Nordic skiing: Alexandria fourth at OTC

Contributed Katie Lovrien (center) was one of the Cardinal Nordic skiers helping the Alexandria girls’ team to a fourth place finish at Fergus Falls Tuesday.

Jimmy Lovrien and Julia Sieling put in excellent performances at the Ottertail Nordic ski invitational at Spidahl Ski Gaard near Fergus Falls Tuesday as both the boys and girls came in fourth overall.

Brainerd won both divisions in Tuesday’s event. Jake Richards of Detroit Lakes and Bailey Drewes of Bemidji were the individual boys’ and girls’ division winners, respectively.

Lovrien fininshed seventh overall with a 21:53 in the 6.5K skate, with Sieling finishing eighth in the girls’ division in 27:10.

Melissa Gromatka was ninth overall in 28:14 and Tyler Johnson was 10th in 22:43 to round out skiers in the top 10.
