The Skilly and Duff Irish Quartet will host its third annual St. Agnes School fundraiser at the Osakis High School fine arts auditorium. The evening of music and laughter is set for Saturday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m.

The Skilly and Duff crew has played festivals, fairs, theaters and other venues across the region, as well as bringing their music to the pubs of Ireland, and across the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The January 22 show will include songs and stories from those musical explorations.

In addition to the Irish tunes, there will be blues, jazz and pop for added variety.

The event will showcase the talents of Chuck and Michelle Wencl of Sax Appeal; 12-year-old songstress Lily Satterlee of Sauk Centre; 14-year-old guitar player Brett Cowdery of Osakis; guitar and harmonica by Terry Kennedy; and the concertina work of Greg Lehrke.

The Skilly and Duff Irish Quartet captured first place in the Celtic music competition at the 2009 Irish Fair of Minnesota in St. Paul. The group features Bruce Kelly on bass, guitar and vocals; Annie O'Flynn on keyboard, accordion and harmonies; Mikko Cowdery on guitar, bouzouki, bodhran and vocals; and 17-year-old regional violin legend, Fiddlin' Sam Steidl.

An inter-generational ensemble, there is a half-century of age difference between the oldest and youngest members of the Skilly and Duff band.
