NOTICE OF FINAL HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Managers of the Sauk River Watershed District pursuant to Minnesota Statute 103D.605 will hold a hearing January 19, 2010 at 7:45 P.M. at the Sauk River Watershed District office located at 524 Fourth Street South in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. The purpose of the hearing is to consider and take comments on the SRWD Watershed-Wide Groundwater Protection Project # SRF0243.

This project will involve existing septic system upgrades, and abandoned wells. Total estimated cost is $290,000 with $40,000 being in grant and $250,000 in State Revolving Fund Loan. In addition, in kind contributions from Planning & Zoning Offices, SWCD’s, MN Dept of Health, local landowners and MPCA will be part of this project. Landowners that receive assistance from the project and State Revolving Fund Loan will be able to pay back the State Revolving Fund Loan over a 7 year period through a special assessment added to their property taxes at 3.5 interest.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the above mentioned improvements. Funds under this project may only be used to improve existing septic systems and under no condition may these funds be used for new construction or for commercial use.
