Letter - Alexandria Lakes Area Tea Party

To the editor:

My wife and I have gotten quite involved with the Alexandria Lakes Area Tea Party. This is a movement that would be good for everyone. Many persons (more liberals than conservatives) think this is totally ridiculous. The truth is that the tea parties are harder on the Republicans than they are on the DFL and that is because the DFL is known to be liberal by their own party platform. The Republicans who don’t abide by the core values of the Tea Party are going to have problems if they are opposed by true conservatives who do abide by them. These core values are: fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government and free markets.

We can’t afford to do everything that everyone wants without going broke. We’ve gotten so used to trying to give everyone what they want without being able to pay for it.

Some say, “tax the rich.” Well, what happens when you get all the money from the rich? That’s right, the government takes over everything and that has never worked anywhere.
